How to Order

Jazpress.com is modeled after our successful commercial print shop and we didn't want much to change when we created the online ordering system. Our goal was to keep the same communication model for ordering while streamlining our order processing and automated pricing.

Does Jaz Press require a log-in and user ID?
Not to start. We want all of our new clients to be able to price their jobs and submit their orders without the typical privacy settings of putting a credit card on file. It is important that we introduce our graphic department and customer service team to our customers after the first order. We pride ourselves on personalized service.
How do I know Jaz Press received my order?
You will receive a confirmation e-mail that the order was received within 1 hour of submission, during normal business hours.
What if I want to make changes to my order?
We do not recommend changes to final artwork that has been submitted. However, the majority of the time you will be able to work with a graphic designer or sales rep that can let you know when your order has gone into production. Changes happen so the earlier we know the better.
What if I the order I want isn't an option on your drop down list?
There are thousands of order combinations that were too much to list on our site in addition to less frequently ordered items that we do provide service for. You can either call to ask for a quote or fill out the custom quotes form online.
Bleed Settings

We wanted to give this topic its own section because it may be confusing if you are not the experienced designer.

What is a bleed?
An illustration or type is said to bleed when the color prints off the edge of a sheet. This is done by using an extra 1/8 inch of artwork so that the sheet may be trimmed along the bleed edge.
What is the standard bleed setting?
1/8 of an inch on each side, which equated to and additional on your overall image size
Should I add crop marks so that you know where it bleeds?
On standard size sheets such as business cards and flyers we do not need crop marks. We will still accept files with or without crop marks.

Do you guarantee turn-around times?
All our turn-around times are accurate and we stick to them. There are rare occasions where a problem occurs and the order cannot be met. As your printer we guarantee that we will not leave you out to dry and come up with a solution for the short-term.
Does the turn-around time start as soon as my order is submitted?
Orders submitted before 11 am EST, will be considered the same day and count towards your turn-around time. Orders received after that will be considered next day.
Is it possible that items will ship early?
Yes it is! Other companies like to charge you a ton of money to buy into their rush services but we feel this is not necessary. Our turn-around times are in-line with our pricing if not better than many places. If we get it done early you will have it.
What if you are doing our design, when can my ordered get printed?
Your order will be printed with the standard turn-around times after we have received a final approval, preferably through e-mail. Orders approved before 11 am EST, will be considered the same day and count towards your turn-around time.
Is Saturday a business day?
No, weekends are not part of production turn-around.
Pricing Jaz Press.com has some of the best pricing anywhere when it comes to retail commercial printing. When comparing pricing it is important that you are comparing like-for-like products. Internet print sites are notorious for bait-and-switch tactics that cost you more and more money every time you try and upgrade.

Does Jaz Press up charge me?
Unlike others we try not to by pricing out our products for the highest quality and standards. From there we will actually show you ways to save money on your order by changing paper type or ink colors.
Is pricing better online or by phone?
As a fair policy we offer the same deals online and offline. We want your company to feel comfortable calling us, email us or submitting online.
Is pricing more for rush charges?
We do not like to charge you a lot of money for rush service because we want you to have the item as soon as we print it. Call and ask if you can have it at an earlier date then the expected turn-around and we'll let you know the production schedule. Otherwise, there might be rush charges, but they won't be unreasonable. Ask a sales representative for more details.
Design Charges
One of the more difficult processes we have is estimating graphic design hours. We try our best to quote you hours before you begin the project so that you can budget accordingly.

Does it cost money for a proof?
No, all of our online and regular mail proofs are free. If you want overnight delivery there will be a shipping fee of $10.
How many proofs do I get?
You can have as many proofs as you like because we want to make sure the job is correct. However, to save yourself time and money we suggest doing your part to minimize revisions. As a rule of thumb, every round of revisions is approximately 15 minutes of time to make the changes and resend out. This equates to about $8.50 for every proof after the first.
File Submission
How can I submit a file?
For larger files, please use the file upload link under file submission in the top navigation of all the pages. You may also email files to artwork@jazpress.com
Is there a best way to submit a file?
Yes! Please submit files as adobe PDF's whenever possible. If you do not know how, please download the software, easy PDF Creator from www.pdfcreator.com

What are other file types you accept?
You can submit your original Publisher, Quark, Indesign, Illustrator or Photoshop files. Make sure to include all links.
What are links to a file and why are they important?
Links are any images that you have placed in your document. To save memory on you computer the design program links to the images rather than embedding them. If you are sending PDF files then you do not have to send the images or fonts with the original file.
What resolution do you print at?
600 pixels per inch x 600 pixels per inch
What is the lowest resolution you recommend?
300 pixels per inch x 300 pixels per inch
